Brooke Hogan will not receive any portion of her late father Hulk Hogan’s estimated £19 million ($25 million) fortune after requesting to be removed from his will in 2023 due to concerns about people she believed were taking advantage of the wrestling legend, TMZ and Entertainment Tonight have confirmed.

The 37-year-old singer and former reality television star made the decision to remove herself from any inheritance proceedings after years of trying unsuccessfully to protect her father from what she perceived as exploitation by those around him, according to sources close to the family and her husband, Steven Oleksy.

“She didn’t trust the people around him and didn’t want to be involved in a financial battle when he passed,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. “She wanted to protect her dad from the people she felt were taking advantage of him, but after years of arguing with him about it, she asked his financial manager to be removed from his will.”

Oleksy, whom Brooke married in 2022, revealed the emotional toll the decision took on his wife, telling Entertainment Tonight: “She was sobbing and texting his financial manager because of the hurt that remained consistent in their relationship.” He added that “All Brooke ever wanted and needed from Hulk was time and honesty, and unfortunately, for my wife, that was never in the cards.”

The wrestling icon, whose real name was Terry Gene Bollea, died on 24 July at his home in Clearwater, Florida, after suffering cardiac arrest. He was 71 years old and left behind a substantial estate including properties worth approximately £8.7 million ($11.5 million) and various business ventures including Real American Beer.

Whilst Brooke will not inherit from the main estate, she will receive funds from a life insurance trust that her father established with her as a beneficiary. Sources indicate she plans to use this “modest amount” towards college funds for her twins, Oliver and Molly, whom she welcomed with Oleksy earlier this year.

In a lengthy Instagram tribute posted on 29 July, five days after her father’s death, Brooke revealed she had been “weeping all day” and “melting down” whilst providing insight into their complicated relationship. It was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand,” she wrote. “My father was confiding in me about issues weighing on his heart, both personal and business. I offered to be a life raft in whatever capacity he needed. I told him he had my support. I begged him to rest, to take care of himself.”

The estrangement between father and daughter had been public knowledge for several years. In March 2025, Brooke had written on Instagram that she had been “verbally and mentally abused since childhood” by her parents, including her mother Linda, who was married to Hulk for 26 years before their 2009 divorce.

Sources revealed that Brooke’s last conversation with her father occurred in September 2023, shortly before he married his third wife, Sky Daily. Despite the distance between them, insiders say Brooke felt “grateful” she was able to tell him “I love you” during that final exchange.

Under Florida’s spousal elective share law, Sky Daily is entitled to 30 per cent of Hulk’s estate regardless of the will’s contents. Estate expert and paralegal June Frederiksen told sources that even if Daily had been excluded from the will, “she would still get a spousal elective share, which she is entitled to 30% in Florida.”

Brooke’s decision to remove herself from the will appears to have been prescient, as the wrestling legend’s fortune could potentially spark legal battles. At the time of his death, Hulk possessed a net worth estimated at £19 million, including significant property holdings in Clearwater purchased for £3.3 million ($4.4 million) that are now valued at approximately £8.7 million.

The former WWE champion’s wealth came from decades in professional wrestling, Hollywood ventures, and various business enterprises. His estate also includes proceeds from his landmark £23.5 million ($31 million) settlement with Gawker Media following his successful invasion of privacy lawsuit over a published sex tape.

Brooke was notably absent from WWE’s televised tributes to her father on Monday, later explaining on Instagram Stories: “For those of you giving me crap for not attending my Dad’s tributes, @wwe did not extend an invite.” Her brother Nick Hogan attended the ceremonies and stood among WWE legends during a ten-bell salute.

Despite the financial distance, Brooke maintained her love for her father was never about money. I know in my heart I did everything I could,” she wrote in her tribute. “He knew I would run through a burning building for him. And in many ways, along the path of life, I did. He knows how deeply, how hard and how purely I loved him. I am at peace knowing this.”

Hulk Hogan is survived by his wife Sky Daily, children Brooke and Nick from his first marriage to Linda, and Brooke’s infant twins, his first known grandchildren.
