About Castle Park
Castle Park is located on the opposite side of Whitehaven from the harbour, though it remains an iconic presence in the town. The traditional park features large trees and wild bushes with winding paths throughout.
The park is regularly used by dog walkers and tourists, with a large grassed area at the front ideal for playing games and picnics. The newly renovated adventure playground is also located in this area.
Castle Park sits adjacent to the historic Whitehaven Castle, with the area having been opened to the public in 1923. The park has recently been fitted with CCTV cameras and new lighting as part of safety improvements funded by the government’s Safer Streets Fund.
