Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague has opened up about her parenting struggles after receiving a call from nursery to inform her that daughter Bambi had bitten another child in what she described as a “biting pandemic” at the facility.

The 26-year-old reality star and businesswoman, who welcomed her daughter with ex-partner Tommy Fury in January 2023, admitted she was torn between disciplining her toddler and not wanting to give the behaviour more attention. In a candid YouTube video uploaded at the weekend, the influencer revealed this wasn’t the first time her two-and-a-half-year-old had bitten another child at nursery.

I got a call from nursery today to tell me that she has bitten another child, and this isn’t the first time that it’s happened,” Molly-Mae explained to her millions of followers. “Basically, at her nursery at the minute, there is a bit of a biting pandemic going on, and all of the children are biting one another.”

The Dilemma Over Ice Cream

The former Love Island runner-up found herself questioning whether pre-planned treats should go ahead following the incident. She had already arranged to take Bambi for ice cream later that day but worried this would be “rewarding her and doing something nice” when her daughter had “done something really not good” at nursery.

I got a call the other day to tell me that she had been bitten and came home with a full-on bite mark on her arm,” she revealed. “But I wasn’t even cross or upset about it, because I knew it was only going to be a matter of days before they called me to tell me that she’d done the same back to another child.”

The influencer explained her belief that the children were “seeing each other doing it and copying the behaviour”, creating a cycle of biting incidents at the nursery. Her key worker had called to inform her that Bambi had “bitten again”, leaving Molly-Mae uncertain about the best approach.

Conflicting Parenting Approaches

The reality star’s sister Zoe, who could be heard in the background of the video, advised Molly-Mae that she “should say something this time” after a previous strategy of ignoring the behaviour had failed to work.

“I don’t know if I should bring attention to it, because when it happened the other week, I decided to with the method of not talking about it because I think they do it maybe because they want a reaction or maybe she wants a rise or wants us to talk about it,” Molly-Mae explained. “So I didn’t at all, but that method clearly didn’t work, because she’s gone into nursery today and done it again.”

The influencer expressed frustration with the nursery’s “gentle parenting approach”, noting they “don’t discipline” and won’t “tell off” the children or “put them on a naughty step”.

I think she knows the environment she’s in; she won’t be told off. She’s not going to have anything taken off her or be put on a naughty step or told no,” she said. “But then is that right approach because clearly whatever is going on isn’t working. I’m a bit stuck on this one.”

‘Completely Opposite’ of Her Parenting Goals

In a moment of raw honesty, Molly-Mae admitted that “most parents wouldn’t want to admit” their child had bitten another, describing the situation as “so embarrassing” for her personally.

“It’s completely and utterly the opposite of what I want my child to be. I want her to be kind, gentle, loving and caring. I want her to be lovely to people and her biting is so far removed from who I want her to be,” she confessed.

However, she acknowledged the developmental stage her daughter was at, adding: “But equally she is two-and-a-half and she’s testing boundaries.”

The businesswoman, who has been co-parenting with Tommy Fury since their split in August 2024, concluded by admitting: “I don’t know what the right thing is to do.”

Fans Praise Honesty

Later in the vlog, Molly-Mae spoke about the importance of sharing her “vulnerabilities” in motherhood and how she was “not going to shy away ever from what I’m feeling” – a sentiment that clearly resonated with her followers.

“Molly, I LOVE your open honesty with parenting it makes me feel like I’m not the only one struggling at times so thank you,” one fan named Laura commented on the video.

Another follower, Alys, shared: “Your realness surrounding motherhood and parenting is so so comforting.”

“As a fellow mama to littles. Thank you for being so honest and relatable. You are the only YouTuber I can relate to on so many levels especially your thoughts on parenting! Thank you for being real!” added viewer Britt.

However, not all responses were supportive, with one commenter offering a different perspective: “As a secondary school teacher, behaviour is such an issue because kids are being raised with no discipline. Definitely don’t take her for ice cream and explain why. Kids need to be taught right from wrong young even though it’s difficult.”

Previous Parenting Struggles

This isn’t the first time Molly-Mae has been open about the challenges of raising her daughter. In June 2025, she spoke candidly about questioning whether she was “cut out” for motherhood during particularly difficult toddler days.

I’m having one of those days, toddler mum days, where I question, ‘am I actually cut out for this?’ I’m being very honest,” she revealed at the time.

The star has also previously discussed Bambi’s attachment issues, which developed following her split from Tommy Fury. In November 2024, she described how Bambi would cry whenever she left the room, making even basic tasks like going to the toilet challenging.

Molly-Mae and Tommy, who met on the fifth series of Love Island in 2019, welcomed Bambi in January 2023. The couple got engaged in July 2023 but announced their separation in August 2024. They have since been co-parenting their daughter, with recent reports suggesting a possible reconciliation between the former couple.

As Molly-Mae continues to navigate the ups and downs of motherhood in the public eye, her willingness to share both the joyful moments and the challenging ones has clearly struck a chord with parents facing similar struggles with their own toddlers.
