Delayed Broadcast Sparks Outrage Among Sussex Supporters
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s loyal supporters are up in arms after ITV faced delays in broadcasting the Invictus Games coverage, leading to accusations that the network is deliberately trying to undermine the Sussexes. The controversy has sparked heated debates online, with many claiming that the network’s handling of the event is an intentional slight against the Duke and Duchess.
The Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry in 2014, is an international sporting event for wounded, injured, and sick service members. The latest edition, currently taking place in Vancouver, Canada, has drawn significant global attention. However, fans have noticed that ITV, which was supposed to provide daily highlights via ITVX, has repeatedly delayed their coverage, leading to speculation about foul play.
Fans Accuse ITV of “Sabotaging” the Sussexes
ITV had previously announced a partnership with the Invictus Games Foundation to air daily highlight shows, making the games accessible to a wider audience. However, as the competition progressed, frustrated viewers took to social media to call out the broadcaster for failing to keep up with its promised schedule.
Supporters of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have claimed that the delay is a deliberate attempt to sabotage the Sussexes, pointing to a broader media agenda against them.
One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote:
“The Invictus Games is an incredible event for veterans, yet ITV is dragging its feet on coverage? The British media’s vendetta against Harry & Meghan is beyond ridiculous!”
Another commented:
“Why is ITV taking so long to air these highlights? It feels like a coordinated effort to downplay Prince Harry’s achievements.”
Some fans also pointed out that other royal-related events, such as Prince William’s recent engagements and Kate Middleton’s public appearances, received immediate and extensive coverage, further fueling theories of bias.
ITV Responds to Accusations Amid Growing Backlash
Following the uproar, ITV issued a statement attempting to clarify the situation. According to the network, the delays in broadcasting the Invictus Games highlights were due to “coordination challenges with the production team and time zone differences.”
A spokesperson for ITV stated:
“We remain committed to supporting the Invictus Games and its incredible participants. Unfortunately, logistical hurdles caused some delays, but we are working diligently to bring audiences the inspiring stories from the Games as soon as possible.”
Despite the explanation, many remain unconvinced, arguing that similar logistical issues have not affected other high-profile sporting events covered by the network. Critics also pointed out that ITV’s failure to prominently feature the games on its main channels further suggests a deliberate downplaying of the event.
Why the Controversy Matters
The controversy over the Invictus Games coverage comes at a time of heightened scrutiny over media treatment of the Sussexes. Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced relentless media criticism, with many accusing British outlets of being unfairly biased against them.
Supporters argue that the Invictus Games should be celebrated as an important initiative for military veterans, rather than being caught in the middle of royal tensions. Many believe that Prince Harry’s contributions to wounded service members deserve equal recognition, regardless of his estranged relationship with the royal family.
A royal commentator weighed in on the controversy, stating:
“It’s unfortunate that the Invictus Games, which is a platform for healing and resilience, is being overshadowed by media politics. Regardless of opinions on the Sussexes, these veterans deserve the spotlight.”
What Happens Next?
With pressure mounting on ITV to improve its coverage, it remains to be seen whether the broadcaster will take further action to address fan concerns. The Invictus Games Foundation has yet to issue a direct response regarding the controversy, but the backlash suggests that any future partnerships with media outlets may need stronger guarantees of fair and timely coverage.
As the Games continue, fans will be closely monitoring ITV’s actions to see if the network improves its delivery or if the delays persist. Regardless of the outcome, the ongoing debate has once again highlighted the polarizing media landscape surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle—and the enduring battle over how they and their initiatives are covered.

M is the problem!! The Games are a noble cause and for that H deserves some praise, but his wife, a starlet of no noteworthy mentions to speak of, has tried to turn them into a world class event, much like the OLYMPICS. H, keep her away from anything to do with the games or risk having them fall into disuse and being ignored by all.
