Explosive document reveals ‘chromosome analysis shows male karyotype’ as World Boxing BANS controversial fighter from women’s events

Sensational leaked medical documents have rocked the sporting world after test results from Imane Khelif‘s 2023 World Championships screening revealed the Olympic boxing champion has “male karyotype” chromosomes.

The explosive report was released by award-winning American journalist Alan Abrahamson on the 3 Wire Sports website just 36 hours after World Boxing ruled that Khelif must undergo sex screening to remain eligible for future female category competition.

The leaked document, dated March 17, 2023, summarises the findings on the controversial Paris Olympics gold medallist as “abnormal” in black and white.

THE SMOKING GUN

The medical report, which has sent shockwaves through women’s sport, states clearly: “Chromosome analysis reveals male karyotype”.

The test was conducted at Dr Lal PathLabs in New Delhi, a facility accredited by the American College of Pathologists and certified by the International Organisation for Standardisation – hardly the “ad hoc” testing the IOC claimed.

This revelation directly contradicts IOC spokesman Mark Adams, who during a tense Paris Olympics press conference dismissed the results as “not legitimate” – a claim now in tatters.

BANNED FROM BOXING

World Boxing has issued an indefinite ban preventing Khelif from competing in the female category at any of its events, including the upcoming Eindhoven Box Cup scheduled for June 5-10, 2025.

The governing body’s letter to the Algerian Boxing Federation was crystal clear: “Imane Khelif may not participate in the female category at the Eindhoven Box Cup, 5-10 June 2025 and any World Boxing event until Imane Khelif undergoes genetic sex screening in accordance with World Boxing’s rules and testing procedures.

Notably, World Boxing’s official statement refuses to use female pronouns, referring only to “Imane Khelif” throughout – a telling detail that speaks volumes.

PARIS SCANDAL REVISITED

The leaked report vindicates the International Boxing Association (IBA), which disqualified Khelif from the 2023 World Championships after the failed gender eligibility test – only to be overruled by the IOC for Paris 2024.

Despite having XY chromosomes – the male pattern – Khelif was cleared to compete at the Paris Olympics based solely on having a female passport and “identifying as female.

The 26-year-old went on to dominate the women’s 66kg competition, sparking global outrage as female boxers were forced to fight an opponent with male biology.

VICTIMS SPEAK OUT

Italy’s Angela Carini, who quit after just 46 seconds against Khelif in Paris, had described being punched so hard she “feared for her life”.

Mexico’s Brianda Tamara, who fought Khelif in 2022, revealed: “I don’t think I had ever felt like that in my 13 years as a boxer, nor in my sparring with men.”

Their testimonies now take on a chilling new significance in light of the leaked medical evidence.

IOC’S CATASTROPHIC FAILURE

IOC President Thomas Bach’s claims that the results were part of a “Russian-led misinformation campaign” now look increasingly desperate as the scientific evidence mounts.

Abrahamson, who first revealed how the IOC had been warned more than a year earlier that Khelif had male DNA, has now published the actual test results – leaving the Olympic body’s credibility in ruins.

“The female category in sport is for women and girls – individuals with XX chromosomes,” Abrahamson wrote. “Identity is not biology. To pretend otherwise is not only to make a mockery of any notion of fairness but, in the case of boxing, risk serious injury or worse.”

WORLD BOXING TAKES STAND

The new governing body, provisionally approved to run Olympic boxing in Los Angeles 2028, has announced that all athletes over 18 must undergo PCR genetic testing to determine their sex.

The test detects chromosomal material through a mouth swab, saliva or blood – and will detect the SRY gene which reveals the presence of the Y chromosome.

World Boxing’s statement was unequivocal: Athletes with a Y chromosome or “with a difference of sexual development (DSD) where male androgenization occurs, will be eligible to compete in the male category.

NINE MONTHS OF SILENCE

Despite the global controversy, Khelif has failed to provide any evidence of having female chromosomes in the nine months since the scandal erupted at Paris 2024.

Instead, the boxer has threatened legal action against journalists reporting on the medical evidence, with previous lawsuits filed against public figures including Elon Musk and J.K. Rowling.

The IOC confirmed Khelif is “preparing a lawsuit in response to the latest reporting” but refused to comment further while legal action is ongoing.

LA 2028 IN DOUBT

This development threatens Khelif’s stated ambitions to defend the controversial gold medal at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.

With World Boxing now requiring mandatory sex testing and the leaked medical evidence confirming male chromosomes, the path to competing in women’s events appears permanently blocked.

Latin American federations proved highly influential in the policy change, with Honduras telling the Women’s Rights Network that “necessary measures should be taken so that only women by birth can compete in women’s competitions.”

THE SCIENCE SPEAKS

A karyotype refers to an individual’s complete set of chromosomes. In humans:

  • XX chromosomes = Female
  • XY chromosomes = Male

The leaked report’s finding of “male karyotype” means XY chromosomes were detected – the biological marker of male sex that no amount of identity claims can change.

As one boxing official stated: “Medicine is knowledge, it is not opinion. The nature and the biological world do not change.”

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

With the medical evidence now public and World Boxing’s ban in place, pressure is mounting on the IOC to explain how an athlete with male chromosomes was allowed to win Olympic gold in women’s boxing.

Questions demanding answers:

  • Why did the IOC ignore warnings about Khelif’s male DNA?
  • How many female boxers were put at risk?
  • Will the Paris gold medal be rescinded?
  • What safeguards will protect women at LA 2028?

One thing is certain: The leaked medical report has blown apart the IOC’s narrative and vindicated those who warned that women’s sport was being sacrificed on the altar of ideology.

The truth, as they say, will always out.
