Celebrity investigator tracks down missing witnesses as shocking new details emerge about British teenager’s final hours in Tenerife

Bombshell revelations have emerged about the final night of British teenager Jay Slater, with a celebrity detective uncovering claims that the 19-year-old armed himself with kitchen knives and fled a holiday rental after allegedly stealing drugs.

The extraordinary new details, revealed in an upcoming podcast by investigator Mark Williams-Thomas, paint a dramatic picture of the apprentice bricklayer’s last hours before his tragic death in a Tenerife ravine last summer.

In a stunning development, Williams-Thomas has successfully tracked down two crucial witnesses who authorities had been unable to locate – including the last person to see Slater alive.

‘ON A MISSION’ – FRIEND’S CHILLING REVELATION

For the first time since the tragedy, Lucy Law – who holidayed with Slater – has broken her silence about their final conversation, revealing disturbing details that shed new light on his state of mind.

According to Williams-Thomas’s investigation, Law disclosed that Slater told her he was “on a mission” and couldn’t return to their rental accommodation. Most shockingly, he revealed he had “taken two kitchen knives down his pants in case anything kicks off.”

The young woman’s absence from last month’s inquest had frustrated officials, with her parents later telling reporters they only learned she was required to attend when police arrived at their door on the day of the hearing.

CONVICTED DEALER’S EXPLOSIVE TESTIMONY

The investigation has also secured testimony from Ayub Qassim, 31, a convicted drug dealer who spent nine years in prison for flooding Cardiff’s streets with Class A substances.

Qassim, who hosted Slater at a remote Airbnb on the night he vanished, has provided what Williams-Thomas calls “really significant new information” about the events leading to the teenager’s disappearance.

In recorded conversations played in the podcast, Qassim allegedly reveals that Slater left the property with his ketamine supply – a detail notably absent from his original police statement.

“When Qassim said ket, he was referring to ketamine,” Williams-Thomas explains in the podcast. My information is that this drug was readily available and that Jay had definitely been using it.

MOUNTAIN OF EVIDENCE

The two-part podcast, titled “Jay Slater: The Investigation,” pieces together a timeline suggesting:

  • Slater had consumed a cocktail of substances leaving him “off his head on drugs
  • He allegedly stole ketamine from the Airbnb
  • Fearing repercussions, he armed himself with two knives
  • He felt unable to return to either his own accommodation or the Airbnb
  • He attempted a treacherous 10-hour walk through mountainous terrain

Williams-Thomas reveals: “My intelligence is that the rental location was specifically chosen so as not to bring attention to any illegal activity.”

MOTHER’S HEARTBREAK

The investigator describes sharing these uncomfortable findings with Slater’s mother, Debbie, who he says is “heartbroken” by the revelations.

Debbie has not wanted me to release the information from Qassim that says Jay took his ketamine when he left the rental because she says it will bring further shame on the family,” Williams-Thomas states.

However, he defends his decision to make the information public: “I believe as an investigator it is vital that all credible information should be considered and investigated.”

CORONER’S FRUSTRATION

The emergence of these witnesses comes just weeks after Preston Coroner’s Court expressed exasperation at being unable to locate them for Slater’s inquest, which has now been adjourned.

The inquest had heard that toxicology reports found traces of cocaine, ecstasy, and ketamine in Slater’s system, supporting claims he was heavily intoxicated during his final hours.

SOCIAL MEDIA BACKLASH

Qassim has apparently responded to the investigation on social media, posting cryptically about people “profiting from grief” and mocking those following the case.

In posts showing him holidaying in Ibiza with friend Steven Roccas – who was also at the Airbnb that night – Qassim appeared dismissive of the ongoing interest in the case.

TRAGIC CONCLUSION

Williams-Thomas concludes that despite the dramatic circumstances, Slater’s death remains “a tragic accident with no third party involvement.

The teenager’s body was discovered after a month-long search, one of the largest ever conducted on the Spanish island. He had suffered severe head injuries consistent with a fall in the treacherous terrain.

“Jay was heavily under the influence of drink and drugs, and in his own words ‘on a mission,'” the investigator summarizes. He met up with a convicted drugs dealer who from the evidence I have seen remains heavily involved in the supply scene.

UNANSWERED QUESTIONS

The podcast also addresses other puzzling elements, including a message Slater sent about stealing a luxury watch worth £10,000, and his final Snapchat showing him at the Airbnb’s doorstep with a cigarette.

His last phone calls to friends described being lost with a dying phone battery, walking across rough, stony ground as he attempted the fatal journey from Masca to Playa de las Americas.

The case, which sparked a social media frenzy of conspiracy theories that distressed his family, continues to raise questions about what exactly transpired during those final, fateful hours on the party island.
