Newcastle star confirms separation from wife Charlotte after being photographed partying with Geordie Shore beauty at exclusive Spanish nightclub
NEWCASTLE United defender Kieran Trippier has sensationally confirmed his marriage to wife Charlotte ended MORE than a year ago – after being spotted cosying up to reality TV stunner Chloe Ferry in Ibiza.
The England international, 34, broke his silence on Instagram last night following explosive photographs showing him with his arms around the Geordie Shore beauty, 29, at the exclusive Ushuaia nightclub last week.
Trippier posted on social media: “Myself and Charlotte separated over a year ago.”
The £130,000-a-week footballer added: “I have not commented previously as it is a private matter and we want to protect our children.”
The bombshell announcement comes after The Sun revealed Trippier was the footballer photographed with reality television personality Chloe Ferry during a night out in Ibiza last week.
The pair were seen together at the popular Ushuaia nightclub, where sources say they spent time partying with their respective groups of friends.
A source revealed: “Chloe and her friends were introduced to Kieran and his mates and they partied together. Kieran was very tactile and put his arm around her when they were together at the club. Chloe is newly single and she was just having some fun.”
The drama unfolds as Charlotte is reportedly seeking “legal advice” when it comes to a possible divorce, with insiders claiming the WAG is “happier without him.”
Caught on camera TWICE
This wasn’t the first time the Newcastle star had been snapped with another woman since their split.
On May 11, Trippier left Wafi Lounge in Newcastle city centre with an unidentified blonde woman.
A witness contacted Charlotte via Instagram with damning evidence, writing: “Hi, Kieran was out with some blonde t**t last night in Wafi Lounge. Just to let u know I have a pic lol.”
Charlotte’s response was swift: “Thanks girl. U got the pic?”
After receiving photographic proof, she added: “Love a girls’ girl. Thanks babe.”
The informant later explained: “I got in touch with her because, if a boyfriend or husband of mine was around town with another woman, I’d want to know.
Marriage on the rocks
Trippier made headlines in May last year when seen lifting up a blonde call centre worker at the Cosy Joes karaoke bar on Tyneside.
The couple, who tied the knot in Cyprus in June 2016, share three children together – son Jacob born in December 2016, daughter Esme Rose in February 2020, and a third child born in 2022.
Their £3.8 million family home was put up for sale in 2024 amid rumours of a split.
A source close to Charlotte revealed: “She has got a new house, is settled, is moving on and wants to sort it amicably and be quite mature.”
They added that Charlotte “feels happier away from him” after seeking legal advice.
Desperate to reconcile
Meanwhile, the footballer is said to be “devastated” by the separation.
He has been desperately trying to get back with her but she’s over him,” a friend revealed, describing Trippier as “devastated” by the situation.
The source added: “The marital difficulties have coincided with a decline in Trippier’s on-field performances last season.”
Euro snub clues
Signs of marital discord emerged during last summer’s European Championships in Germany, when Charlotte notably unfollowed her husband on Instagram following England’s final group match.
Unlike other partners of England players, she chose not to travel to Germany for the tournament.
Charlotte later shared a cryptic social media post stating: “Sooner or later you get over the s**t you swore you’d never get over and it’s the best feeling in the world.
The WAG had previously opened up about her struggles during their time in Spain when Trippier played for Atletico Madrid.
She revealed: “I was on my own for long. I felt so lonely… about four months in, I was saying, ‘I don’t know if I can stay here, Kieran, I feel depressed.”
Keeping it private
In his statement, Trippier emphasised: “I have never commented on my private life but as the tabloids seem to want to continue writing false stories I feel I have no choice but to confirm publicly that myself and Charlotte separated over a year ago.
He concluded by asking “the media to respect our privacy in the same way.”
Neither party has made further public statements about their separation, with representatives maintaining it remains a private matter.
