‘The Killers Have Killed Two People – Me and My Son’: Heartbroken Family’s Devastating Tribute to ‘Smiley’ Boy, 14, Stabbed to Death as FIVE Arrested Including Three Teenagers
The devastated family of a 14-year-old boy stabbed to death in Manchester have said his killers have “killed two people – me and my son” in an emotional tribute to the teenager who “always made everybody laugh.”
Ibrahima Seck was knifed outside the Fairway Inn pub in New Moston at around 5pm on Sunday evening before running to a nearby house where he desperately told a resident “I don’t want to die.”
Despite the frantic efforts of emergency services and air ambulance staff, the popular teenager died in hospital from his wounds – becoming the latest young victim of Britain’s knife crime epidemic.
Five people have now been arrested in connection with the murder, including three teenagers aged just 14 and 16, as the shocked community struggles to comprehend how children could be accused of killing another child.
‘WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THIS?’
In a heartbreaking statement released through police, Ibrahima’s family painted a picture of a loving, caring boy whose life was brutally cut short.
“Ibrahima was a well-liked young boy. He was funny, caring, and hardworking. He was our best friend, and he looked after me,” they said.
“He was so smiley and always made everybody laugh. He was a good boy. The killers have killed two people – me and my son.
“Why would anyone do this to him? He does nothing wrong. My family want justice.”
The raw anguish in the family’s words – particularly the devastating line about the killers having “killed two people” – lays bare the double tragedy of knife crime: the young life lost and the family left destroyed.
FATHER’S AGONY AT MURDER SCENE
Earlier on Monday, Ibrahima’s distraught father visited the scene where his son was attacked, breaking down in tears as he laid flowers among growing tributes from the community.
The grieving father showed reporters an image of his son on his mobile phone, repeatedly saying “he’s been killed” before placing flowers next to a picture of Ibrahima and messages from devastated locals.
One tribute left at the scene read: “Things need to change, knives down gloves up” – a desperate plea for an end to the violence claiming young lives.
Another message said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this horrific time.”
DESPERATE FINAL MOMENTS
According to witnesses, after being stabbed outside the pub on Nevin Road, the badly injured teenager ran to a nearby house seeking help.
A resident quoted by the Manchester Evening News revealed the boy’s heartbreaking final words: “I don’t want to die.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, rushed to the scene but despite their desperate efforts, Ibrahima could not be saved.

COMMUNITY IN SHOCK
The murder has sent shockwaves through New Moston, with residents struggling to comprehend how such violence could claim the life of a 14-year-old boy.
This incident that has seen a young boy sadly die has understandably rocked the local community in New Moston,” DCI Platten said.
Police have deployed significant resources to the area, with multiple crime scenes in place as they piece together what led to the fatal attack.
One local resident posted on social media: “Had a glance and couldn’t see this being discussed, have we become that used to horrific incidents happening that it merely raises an eyebrow? Round the corner from me and I’ve got a daughter who’s 14, genuinely can’t get my head round it, kids killing kids.”
POLICE APPEAL
Detectives are still appealing for witnesses to come forward as they continue their murder investigation.
DCI Platten said: “This is a live investigation and we are still looking for information, doorbell or dashcam footage, or eye-witness accounts from anyone who was in the area at the time.”
The senior officer added: “Firstly, the Force and I would like to pass on our condolences to Ibrahima’s loved ones and we will continue to support them at this sad time.

KNIFE CRIME EPIDEMIC
Ibrahima’s death is the latest in a string of knife attacks claiming young lives across Britain, with his age – just 14 – highlighting the increasingly young victims and perpetrators of blade violence.
The fact that three of the five people arrested are teenagers themselves – including two 14-year-olds – underscores the horrifying reality of children killing children on Britain’s streets.
Manchester Coroner’s Office has confirmed it has received a file for Ibrahima as the investigation continues.
As his family grieves for their “funny, caring and hardworking” boy who “always made everybody laugh,” the question they posed echoes across a community in mourning: “Why would anyone do this to him?
For Ibrahima’s devastated family, no answer could ever explain why their smiling, caring son – who “looked after” them and was their “best friend” – will never come home again.
