Reality star, 47, reveals eldest son’s early morning rampage forced emergency return to college as she admits ‘I am so tired’
Katie Price was forced to make a heartbreaking decision after her son Harvey smashed her £3,000 television during an early morning outburst – sending him back to college a day early.
The former glamour model, 47, was woken at 6am on Sunday by the sound of her expensive TV being destroyed in the living room of her property, leaving her to admit to fans: “I’m knackered. I am so tired.”
In emotional footage shared on her Snapchat, the mother-of-five revealed this wasn’t the first time Harvey, 23, has damaged one of her TVs – and she had no choice but to cut his weekend visit short.
CAUGHT RED-HANDED
In a revealing video posted to her social media, Katie confronted Harvey moments after the destruction, asking him: “What has mummy just heard?
Harvey, who lives with multiple complex conditions including autism, blindness and Prader-Willi syndrome, calmly replied: “Smashing the TV.
The reality star, visibly exhausted from being woken so early, then had to explain the consequences to her eldest son.
“You was going to college tomorrow to get some new meds [medication], but now when are you going? You are going now,” Price told Harvey in the footage.
A downcast Harvey responded with “Oh god!” before apologising to his mother and promising he “would not do it again”.
‘IT’S SO SAD’
But Katie remained firm in her decision, telling him: “Well, you’ve got to go to college now and get some meds.”
The TV personality later revealed she had to spend the rest of Sunday sourcing a replacement for the destroyed £3,000 television, leaving her exhausted.
In another post on the image-sharing platform, Price branded the entire saga as “sad” after bidding her son an early farewell.
She explained to fans that when Harvey was questioned about why he damaged the television, he told his mother it had angered him because it was early in the morning.
HISTORY OF OUTBURSTS
This isn’t the first time Harvey has caused damage to televisions in the Price household. The 23-year-old has a history of destructive behavior when frustrated or upset – a challenging aspect of his complex conditions.
Harvey lives with:
- Prader-Willi syndrome – a genetic disorder causing chronic hunger
- Autism
- Septo-optic dysplasia causing blindness
- ADHD
- Learning disabilities
The combination of conditions means Harvey requires 24/7 supervision at National Star College, where he receives specialist care and education.
A PATTERN OF DESTRUCTION
In 2021, Katie revealed Harvey had already destroyed multiple items at his college, including:
- His TV
- Computer and keyboard
- Printer
- Even the lights in his room
Surprisingly, Katie viewed this destruction as a POSITIVE sign at the time, telling OK! magazine: “I know for certain that Harvey is extremely settled because he’s now smashed things up.”
She explained to college staff: “I’m so happy that he’s done all this because now I know he’s really settling in.”
WEIGHT BATTLE ADDS TO WOES
The TV incident comes as Katie faces additional heartbreak over Harvey’s health. Earlier this year, she revealed his weight had reached a “life-threatening” level, approaching 30 stone (188kg).
“He’s just under 30st and that’s huge,” Katie admitted on her podcast. “He’s on the verge of a heart attack. He won’t have a long life if he carries on putting more and more weight on.”
The star has turned to weight-loss injections on medical advice, with Harvey now taking Mounjaro – an Ozempic-style medication – to help control his appetite.
FINANCIAL STRUGGLES
The cost of replacing the £3,000 television adds to Katie’s mounting financial pressures. The star was declared bankrupt for a SECOND time in March 2024, with debts totaling more than £3.5 million.
A garnishment order means 40% of her earnings are now being taken to pay off creditors.
Meanwhile, Harvey’s care costs are substantial. His specialist college placement provides round-the-clock support but comes with significant fees – though some funding is provided by West Sussex Council.
DEVOTED MOTHER
Despite the challenges, Katie remains devoted to Harvey, her eldest child from her brief relationship with former footballer Dwight Yorke in the early 2000s.
Yorke “brutally rejected” both Katie and Harvey following their romance, initially denying paternity until a DNA test proved otherwise. He hasn’t seen Harvey for years, leaving Katie to raise him as a single mother.
- Junior, 19, and Princess, 17 (with ex-husband Peter Andre)
- Jett, 11, and Bunny, 10 (with ex-husband Kieran Hayler)
THE CRISIS POINT
In 2021, Katie made the difficult decision to place Harvey in residential care after reaching a “crisis point” where he was smashing windows at home every morning to avoid going to school.
He knew, because he was big and strong, that he’d smash a window and then the driver wouldn’t have him in the car,” she explained on BBC Radio 4.
The move to National Star College was documented in the BBC series “Katie Price: Harvey and Me” and its sequel “What Harvey Did Next.
LOOKING AHEAD
As Harvey returned to college early on Sunday, Katie faces the ongoing challenge of managing his complex needs while dealing with her own exhaustion and financial pressures.
The devoted mum continues to visit Harvey regularly at college, though she can no longer drive herself there following driving bans.
Despite everything, Katie’s love for Harvey remains unwavering. As she recently said: “I love him and I’m going to help him through this.”
