Katie Price faces mounting legal battles after former cage fighter Alex Reid released damaging footage showing the bankrupt star counting piles of cash, whilst Peter Andre broke his 16-year silence claiming their children lived with him “for their safety”.

The 47-year-old former glamour model found herself at the centre of a fresh scandal yesterday when her ex-husband Alex Reid, 50, shared controversial video footage from 2020 showing Price handling stacks of money whilst officially bankrupt. The leak comes just days after another ex-husband, Peter Andre, made explosive claims about their children’s custody arrangements.

In the leaked clip, Price can be seen lounging on a sofa wearing white jodhpurs beside a Christmas tree, telling her daughter Princess she is “enjoying counting” the cash before her. The reality star boasts “there’s loads here, I’m just sorting it out” whilst handling the money.

Alex Reid vows to expose ‘the truth’

Reid, who married Price in Las Vegas in February 2010 before their acrimonious split the following year, announced he is “spearheading a campaign to expose the truth” about his former wife. The MMA fighter declared: “This isn’t about gossip but about evidence. It’s not about rumour, it’s about reality. After years of silence, the time has finally come to reveal all.”

The former cage fighter posted the footage alongside his own commentary, making remarks including “this is unbelievable” and “has my legal team seen this?” In a lengthy statement, Reid explained: “Over the years, you have seen countless stories by Katie Price directed at me, Peter, Keiran, and others. Today I want to be clear. I am spearheading a campaign to expose the truth.”

The timing of Reid’s revelations appears strategic, coming shortly after Peter Andre’s bombshell statement about their children’s living arrangements.

Price’s team responds to cash allegations

A spokesperson for Price swiftly responded to the leaked footage, insisting the star had fully cooperated with bankruptcy proceedings. They stated: “The cash featured did not belong to Katie and the property referred to was dealt with in the financial settlement proceedings arising out of Katie’s divorce from Peter Andre.”

The representative added: “This is a video that was shared with Katie’s Trustee in Bankruptcy several months ago and Katie has fully complied with the Trustee’s investigations into the same.”

Price’s bankruptcy trustee, Farheen Qureshi, confirmed to reporters: “Notwithstanding that Ms Price has been discharged from both her first and second Bankruptcies, both Bankruptcies are still live and continuing and, in my capacity as her Trustee, I am seeking realisations from various third parties for the respective Bankruptcy estates.”

Peter Andre breaks silence on custody battle

The leaked video emerged just days after Peter Andre, 52, issued an unprecedented statement about his children with Price. The Mysterious Girl singer revealed that Princess, 18, and Junior, 20, had been living with him since 2018 “for their safety”.

Andre declared: “For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today.”

The singer revealed: “For well-documented reasons, and for their safety, Junior and Princess came into my care in 2018 and remained with me until they reached adulthood. In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement.

Andre also referenced previous legal victories, stating: “In 2011 and 2015, publicly documented court cases found my ex-wife had made false claims. She was ordered to pay substantial damages and legal costs, and to apologise, to me and my management.”

History of bankruptcy troubles

Price was first declared bankrupt in November 2019 with debts listed as totalling more than £3.5 million. She was declared bankrupt for a second time in March 2024 over unpaid tax bills. Her financial troubles have been well-documented, with the High Court hearing she faced bankruptcy proceedings after failing to keep up with an Individual Voluntary Arrangement requiring approximately £12,000 monthly payments to creditors.

In August 2024, Judge Catherine Burton ruled it was “appropriate” to order the “suspension of further payments” to Price from TikTok until a solution could be found. The court had previously ordered Price to pay 40% of her monthly income from OnlyFans until February 2027 to help pay off her debts.

Reid’s previous legal victory

This is not the first time Reid has taken legal action against his ex-wife. In 2020, he won a High Court case against Price for misuse of private information after she showed intimate videos of him to a television audience.

Mr Justice Warby described Price’s conduct as “persistent, flagrant, arrogant, high-handed and inexcusable”, ordering her to pay £25,000 in damages plus £150,000 in legal costs. Reid claimed the incident had “destroyed” his life and damaged his professional reputation.

More ex-husbands join legal battle

In a further blow to Price, former spouses Kieran Hayler and Alex Reid have joined forces to prevent the broadcast of her upcoming autobiographical documentary scheduled to air in 2025. A source revealed: “They feel like they have been backed into a corner and have no choice. They just want her to stop trashing them, and can’t believe she is being given a platform.”

Hayler, 38, who was married to Price from 2013 to 2021 and shares children Jett, 12, and Bunny, 11, with her, has previously taken legal action against the star. In 2022, he pursued legal proceedings after Price appeared to compare him to Jimmy Savile on social media.

Princess Andre breaks silence

Amidst the family turmoil, Princess Andre addressed the ongoing feud between her parents during a Snapchat Q&A session. When asked if her parents not getting along affected her, she responded: “To be honest it doesn’t affect me. At the end of the day, they broke up when I was two years old so I don’t even have any memory of them being together.”

In her new ITV2 reality series The Princess Diaries, Princess revealed the impact of her childhood experiences, admitting she “saw things kids shouldn’t see” during her mother’s “dark times” following the 2018 split from Kieran Hayler.

Price defiant amid mounting pressure

Despite facing multiple legal challenges and bankruptcy proceedings, Price remains defiant. A spokesperson for the star told media outlets: “Kate is in a much better and clear headspace and is at peace with the situation, this was in the past and she doesn’t feel the need to bring up tit for tat comments, but more importantly she’s dealing with this the right way and it’s now in her lawyers hands.”

The spokesperson added: “Kate will no longer be gaslighted and bullied as she once was.”

As Price faces bankruptcy hearings, custody disputes, and potential legal action from multiple ex-partners, the former Page 3 model’s troubled financial and personal life continues to dominate headlines. With Reid promising more revelations and Andre threatening further legal action, this bitter saga shows no signs of ending soon.
