Kelly Osbourne has broken her silence following her father Ozzy Osbourne’s private funeral, sharing a photograph of a bold floral tribute that perfectly captured the Black Sabbath legend’s rebellious spirit. The 40-year-old television personality posted an image on Instagram Stories showing a wreath reading “Ozzy f***ing Osbourne” placed by the lake where the metal icon was laid to rest on Thursday, 31 July.
The Prince of Darkness was buried on the grounds of his 250-acre Buckinghamshire estate during an intimate ceremony attended by 110 of his closest family and friends, including rock royalty from across the globe. The service came nine days after the 76-year-old’s death on 22 July at his home, surrounded by his loved ones following a six-year battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Sharon Osbourne, his wife of 43 years, was joined by their three children – Aimee, 41, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39 – as well as Louis, 50, Ozzy’s son from his first marriage to Thelma Riley. A family friend told The Sun that Ozzy and Sharon’s home was decorated with pictures of the Black Sabbath rocker – and that they had planned to give mourners a photograph of him to take home with them.
Star-Studded Farewell at Lakeside Estate
The private service drew an impressive gathering of music legends. Black Sabbath bandmates Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward are expected to attend, as are Elton John and Metallica’s James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo. Ex-Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde, Rob Zombie, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Marilyn Manson and others were on hand to pay their final respects.
Rock icon Marilyn Manson was also among the mourners who attended, after flying in from the US, along with Ozzy’s guitarist Zakk Wylde and Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor. British punk sensation Yungblud, who had grown close to Ozzy in recent years, was asked to give a reading during the service.
“Ozzy’s service was a beautiful tribute. As well as tears, there was laughter,” a family friend revealed. The ceremony featured tents erected in the grounds of the mansion, which Ozzy and Sharon purchased in 1993, along with a stage where tributes were paid to the metal legend.

Birmingham’s Emotional Farewell
The private burial followed Wednesday’s public funeral procession through Birmingham, where tens of thousands of fans lined the streets to honour their hometown hero. The Black Sabbath singer’s coffin was driven along Broad Street in the city center, a route that saw the cortege pause at a bridge named after the band he helped found nearly six decades ago.
Sharon Osbourne, visibly emotional throughout the procession, stopped with her children at the Black Sabbath Bridge to observe the sea of floral tributes left by fans. Sharon, in tears, added her own pink rose to the growing pile. Kelly honoured her father by wearing round wire-rimmed sunglasses, a signature style of the rock icon.
Birmingham Mayor Zafar Iqbal praised the late musician’s impact on the city. “Ozzy was more than a music legend – he was a son of Birmingham,” he stated, acknowledging how Osbourne had “put Birmingham on the map.”
A Daughter’s Grief
Kelly’s journey through grief has been documented through a series of emotional social media posts since her father’s passing. Three days after Ozzy’s death, she broke her initial silence with a poignant Instagram Story, writing: “I feel unhappy I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had.”
The television personality has been sharing treasured memories of her father, including footage from their 2018 series “Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour.” In one particularly touching clip, the pair can be seen singing and dancing to George Ezra’s “Paradise” in a truck, with Kelly telling her father “I love you,” to which Ozzy replied, “I love you more.”
Kelly also posted the lyrics to Black Sabbath’s 1972 song “Changes,” which she had famously re-recorded with her father in 2003, reaching number one in the UK charts. The song held special significance for the father-daughter duo, representing their unbreakable bond.
Final Wishes Fulfilled
In burying Ozzy near a lake at his estate, Sharon Osbourne granted the metal legend’s wishes. In his autobiography I Am Ozzy, he wrote, “I’ve said to Sharon: ‘Don’t cremate me, whatever you do.’ I want to be put in the ground, in a nice garden somewhere, with a tree planted over my head.”
The location holds particular significance as “Ozzy wanted his final place of rest to be at home and he is buried at a beautiful point on the lake.” Multiple floral tributes adorned the site, including one spelling out “OZZY” placed by the fountain on the lake.
Road Closures and Security
The private nature of the Buckinghamshire service was strictly maintained. The road leading to Ozzy and Sharon’s home, close to Gerrards Cross, was closed from 1pm. Guests were sent a simple black invitation with a picture of a cross that read: “In loving memory of Ozzy Osbourne.” Mourners were transported from The Crowne Plaza and The Bull in Gerrards Cross to the house at 2pm, with the service starting at 3pm.
A Life Celebrated
Ozzy Osbourne’s death on 22 July marked the end of an era for heavy metal music. It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” Osbourne’s family said in a statement to CNN. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
The timing of his passing came just weeks after what would be his final performance. Osbourne played his final show, billed as “Back to the Beginning”, alongside the original line-up of Black Sabbath, at Villa Park in Birmingham on 5 July 2025. The concert, watched by more than 40,000 spectators, saw Osbourne perform seated on a black throne due to his Parkinson’s disease, with all proceeds donated to charity.
Born John Michael Osbourne on 3 December 1948 in Birmingham, the working-class boy who left school at 15 would go on to become one of rock’s most influential figures. From co-founding Black Sabbath in 1968 to his successful solo career and reality TV fame with “The Osbournes,” his impact on popular culture was immeasurable.
Legacy Lives On
As the metal world mourns the loss of its godfather, Kelly Osbourne’s bold tribute wreath perfectly encapsulated the spirit of a man who never compromised his rebellious nature. The irreverent message, placed lovingly by the lakeside where he now rests, serves as a final reminder of the larger-than-life personality who changed the face of heavy metal forever.
The Osbourne family has requested privacy as they continue to grieve their loss. Meanwhile, fans worldwide continue to pay tribute to the Prince of Darkness, whose music and legacy will inspire generations to come.
