Police are hunting a man who allegedly exposed himself to young girls on a London bus, prompting increased patrols to ensure public safety.

In a disturbing series of events, the Metropolitan Police are investigating two incidents that took place on the SL7 bus route toward Sutton in south London. On April 1, 2025, between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM, a man allegedly exposed his buttocks to a group of young girls and proceeded to smack himself. A week later, on April 8, 2025, at the same time and location, the same individual reportedly escalated his behavior by exposing his penis, urinating in the direction of passengers, and shouting vulgar remarks.

Police Release CCTV Image to Identify Suspect

The Metropolitan Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with these incidents. The individual was seen wearing a yellow and dark-colored puffer jacket. Authorities are urging anyone who recognizes him to come forward with information to aid the investigation.

Detective Constable Teresa Moore, from the Roads and Transport Policing Command, stated, “Both incidents have caused extreme concern to the victims involved, and it is important for anyone with information to come forward to police in order for us to locate this man.” She emphasized the need for community assistance in identifying the suspect to prevent further incidents.

Increased Patrols for Public Safety

In response to these disturbing events, the Metropolitan Police have increased patrols in the Sutton area, particularly along the SL7 bus route, which runs from West Croydon to Heathrow Central. These measures aim to reassure young women and other passengers using the bus network. “Our neighborhood officers are currently carrying out extra patrols in the area to ensure the safety of all young women who may take this bus route,” said DC Moore.

Public Urged to Report Information

The police are calling on the public to assist in their investigation. If you recognize the man in the CCTV image or have any information about these incidents, please contact the Metropolitan Police online or call 101, quoting the relevant case details. Alternatively, you can reach out anonymously via Crimestoppers.

Anyone with concerns about these incidents is encouraged to speak with officers patrolling the area, who are available to provide advice and reassurance.

Addressing Safety on London’s Public Transport

These incidents highlight ongoing concerns about safety on London’s public transport network. The Metropolitan Police, in collaboration with Transport for London, have previously launched campaigns like “Report it to Stop it” to encourage reporting of unwanted sexual behavior. Such initiatives underscore the importance of community vigilance in maintaining a safe environment for all passengers.
