A desperate mother has issued a heartbreaking plea after her 14-year-old daughter went missing more than a week ago, with police fearing she may have travelled outside of London.

Isis Foster is believed to have travelled by train from her home in Ashford, Kent, to London early on the morning of 13 October after leaving her house at 2.30am.

The schoolgirl was last seen near Stratford City, Leyton High Road, at around 9.30am the same day, but Met Police officers now fear Isis could have travelled far beyond the capital given the length of time she has been missing.

“Our World Has Stood Still”

Isis’s mother Vicky made an emotional appeal for information about her missing daughter.

“Our world has stood still since Isis went missing, and we desperately want her back home and safe,” she said.

If you have any information, no matter how small, that could help us find her then I urge you to please contact the police.

“Even the smallest detail could make a difference.”

The anguished plea from a mother whose teenage daughter has now been missing for over a week captures the nightmare facing the Foster family.

Left Home at 2.30am

Isis left her Ashford home at approximately 2.30am on 13 October – the early hour suggesting either careful planning to avoid detection or a sudden decision made in distress.

She was reported missing after her departure was discovered, prompting an immediate search.

CCTV footage captured Isis at the station a couple of hours later at 5.30am, confirming she had taken a train toward London.

Last Seen Near Stratford City

The 14-year-old was last spotted near Stratford City and Leyton High Road at around 9.30am on 13 October.

This sighting came approximately four hours after she arrived in London, raising questions about where she went and who she may have been with during that time.

The Stratford area, with its major shopping centre and transport hub, sees thousands of people pass through daily, potentially making it easier for someone to disappear into crowds.

Police Fear She’s Left London

Detective Inspector Martin Enever of the Met’s North East Command Unit warned that Isis could now be anywhere in the country.

“We, and Isis’ family, are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare,” he stated.

“Even if you live outside London, take a close look at the photo of her.”

The appeal to people beyond London suggests police believe Isis may have travelled to another part of the UK after initially arriving in the capital.

Description of Missing Teen

Police describe Isis as around 5ft 1ins tall with cropped black hair.

She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, ripped blue jeans and a black coat with a fur-trimmed hood.

The distinctive fur-trimmed coat could help members of the public identify her if they’ve seen someone matching her description.

Urgent Appeal for Information

Detective Inspector Enever urged anyone with information to come forward immediately.

“If you recognise her or have any information please contact us urgently on 101, quoting CAD 1498/15OCT.”

“If you see her, dial 999 immediately and quote the same reference.”

The instruction to dial 999 if Isis is spotted indicates the urgency and concern surrounding her disappearance.

Over a Week Missing

With Isis now having been missing for more than eight days, the window for finding her safe narrows with each passing hour.

Statistics show that the longer a missing person remains unaccounted for, particularly a vulnerable young teenager, the greater the risk to their safety.

Police and family will be increasingly worried about Isis’s wellbeing, whether she has shelter, food, and is safe from exploitation.

Why Did She Leave?

The circumstances of Isis leaving home at 2.30am raise questions about what prompted her departure.

Possibilities include:

  • Running away due to problems at home or school
  • Meeting someone she connected with online
  • Being lured away by someone grooming her
  • Mental health crisis
  • Being influenced by peers

Police haven’t disclosed whether they have information about Isis’s reasons for leaving or whether she left voluntarily.

Vulnerability of Missing Teenagers

Fourteen-year-olds who go missing face particular vulnerability to exploitation, grooming, trafficking and other dangers.

Missing children can fall prey to criminal gangs, be sexually exploited, or end up sleeping rough in dangerous situations.

The longer Isis remains missing, the greater the risk she faces from predators who specifically target vulnerable young people.

Transport Hub Concerns

Stratford’s position as a major transport interchange means Isis could have easily connected to trains, tubes or buses going anywhere in the country.

From Stratford, she could reach:

  • Other parts of London via the Underground
  • National destinations via rail connections
  • Coastal towns via direct services
  • Airports for potential travel abroad

This connectivity makes tracing her movements challenging without specific sightings or leads.

Family’s Anguish

For Isis’s mother Vicky and the rest of her family, each day without news brings fresh torment.

Not knowing whether their daughter is safe, where she’s sleeping, whether she’s eating, or if she’s being harmed represents unimaginable suffering.

The appeal for “even the smallest detail” reflects how desperate the family has become for any information that might lead to Isis’s safe return.

Public Asked to Check CCTV

Businesses, homeowners and anyone with CCTV or doorbell cameras in the Stratford area on 13 October are urged to review footage.

Any sighting of Isis between 9.30am when she was last seen and the hours following could provide crucial clues about her movements.

Social Media and Friends

Police will undoubtedly be examining Isis’s social media accounts, phone records and speaking to friends to understand:

  • Who she was communicating with before disappearing
  • Whether she mentioned plans to anyone
  • If online contacts may be involved
  • Her state of mind in the days before she left

Previous Missing Person Cases

Sadly, cases of missing teenagers sometimes end tragically, though many are found safe.

Swift public appeals and media attention can prove crucial in generating the sightings and information that lead to safe recoveries.

What to Do If You See Her

Anyone who spots someone matching Isis’s description should:

  • Call 999 immediately
  • Note exact location and direction of travel
  • Try to keep the person in sight safely without approaching
  • Provide reference CAD 1498/15OCT

Members of the public should not attempt to detain or confront Isis themselves but should alert police immediately.

As the Foster family endures another day without their daughter, they cling to hope that someone, somewhere has seen Isis and will come forward with the information that brings her home safely.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting CAD 1498/15OCT, or dial 999 if they see Isis.
