Tech billionaire’s estranged child performs alongside drag stars in climate change benefit with proceeds supporting legal aid for immigrants

Vivian Jenna Wilson, the 21-year-old transgender daughter of Tesla founder Elon Musk, made her highly anticipated drag debut at a Los Angeles charity show raising funds for immigrant legal defense.

The TikTok influencer and model performed at the Save Her drag show at The Bellwether in Los Angeles on Friday night, joining an environmental-themed production where all profits were pledged to support legal defense funds for immigrants.

Pattie’s show is now a benefit show with 100% of profits going to legal defense funds for immigrants.

Star-studded environmental drag spectacular

The production, led by critically acclaimed drag artist and environmental activist Pattie Gonia, combined entertainment with activism in what was billed as “a drag show all about climate change and solutions.

Wilson performed alongside established drag performers including Vivllainous, Skirt Cocaine, Noxxia Datura, and Trudy Tective in the environmental-themed spectacular.

The show also features a cast of drag kings and queens including VERA!, Sequoia, Nini Coco + local surprise drag performers that will leave you saying “it’s getting hot in here.

From social media sensation to drag performer

Wilson’s drag debut marks the latest milestone in her journey as a prominent LGBTQ+ activist and social media personality, where she has gained a massive following for her sharp takedowns of right-wing figures – including her billionaire father.

Earlier this month, Wilson landed her first modelling gig, working with queer clothing brand WILDFANG.

The 21-year-old shared her excitement about the performance on Instagram Stories, writing “AHHHH I’m so excited” when announcing her participation in the show.

Long-held drag ambitions realized

Wilson has made no secret of her passion for drag, previously telling Out magazine she was “obsessed” with the art form and RuPaul’s Drag Race.

“I really want to do drag and I might have some stuff planned,” she said. “Obviously, drag is very difficult, it’s not something you can master in a day. I recognise that [but] still want to try it.”

Her fierce dance moves had previously brought the house down at the New York City premiere party for RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, according to Page Six, suggesting she had been preparing for her stage debut for some time.

Estranged from tech titan father

Wilson, who legally changed her name and gender in 2022 at age 18, has been publicly estranged from her father since coming out as transgender in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She reportedly first told her aunt via text message: “Hey, I’m transgender, and my name is now Jenna. Don’t tell my Dad.”

The relationship deteriorated further after Musk claimed in a 2024 interview that his “son” was “killed by the woke-mind virus” – comments Wilson has repeatedly mocked on social media using RuPaul’s Drag Race references.

Environmental activism meets immigrant rights

Pattie Gonia, who hosts the Save Her show, is renowned for combining drag performance with environmental and social justice activism.

Pattie Gonia is an environmentalist, drag queen, and community organizer. They’ve been named Outside Magazine’s Person of the Year, National Geographic Traveler of the Year and a TIME Magazine Next Gen Leader 2023.

The decision to donate all profits to immigrant legal defense funds adds another layer of activism to the environmental-themed production.

Five years since coming out

Last month, Wilson celebrated five years since she came out as a trans woman, meaning she came out at 16-years-old during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite what she has described as a “weird childhood” with an often absent father, Wilson has become a powerful voice for trans rights and a social media icon.

Wilson studied in Tokyo, Japan, before returning to Los Angeles for modeling in May 2025.

The Save Her drag show continues Pattie Gonia’s touring production, which has visited multiple cities across the United States, combining spectacular drag performances with urgent messages about climate change and social justice.
