The London Ambulance Service deployed substantial resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, advanced paramedics, incident response officers, and a command support vehicle.
“We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance, which consisted of a paramedic and a doctor in a car,” a London Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, two men were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims have not yet been released as police work to inform next of kin.

Crime Scene Established
Long Lane, a major thoroughfare in Southwark running between Tower Bridge Road and the Old Kent Road, has been cordoned off as forensic teams examine the scene.
The incident occurred in a densely populated area near Borough High Street and close to several businesses and residential properties. The location is approximately five minutes from London Bridge and in an area with significant foot traffic during business hours.
Police have established a substantial crime scene perimeter as detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command are expected to lead the investigation.
Community Impact
The stabbing has sent shockwaves through the local community in Southwark, an area that has seen several violent incidents in recent years but where daytime attacks at business premises remain relatively rare.
Local businesses in the immediate vicinity were advised to close temporarily whilst emergency services dealt with the incident, causing disruption to the busy commercial district.
The attack comes amid ongoing concerns about knife crime in the capital, with the Metropolitan Police continuing to focus resources on tackling violence involving bladed weapons.
Investigation Ongoing
Detectives are working to establish the full circumstances of the attack, including whether those involved were known to each other and what led to the violent confrontation.
Police have not released information about the nature of the business premises where the stabbing occurred or whether it was targeted or a random attack.
Officers are likely to be examining CCTV footage from the area, which is well-covered by security cameras due to its commercial nature and proximity to major transport links.
Public Appeal
As the investigation continues, police are expected to appeal for witnesses who may have been in the Long Lane area around lunchtime on Monday.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact police on 101 or to remain anonymous, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
