Police have launched an urgent appeal to find missing 15-year-old Alexis who was last seen in Desborough, Northamptonshire, and is believed to have travelled to central London tourist hotspots.

The teenager was last spotted on 16 July 2025 in Desborough, with officers now focusing their search on Camden, Southwark, The Strand and Leicester Square areas of the capital. Northamptonshire Police are increasingly concerned for Alexis’s welfare and are urging the public to be vigilant.

Alexis is described as white, of slim build, with long dark hair. Anyone who spots her is urged to call 101 immediately, quoting reference CAD 1213/20AUG.

Focus on London Tourist Areas

The search has concentrated on some of London’s busiest tourist and entertainment districts, suggesting Alexis may have travelled to the capital deliberately. Camden, known for its markets and alternative culture scene, along with the theatre district around Leicester Square and The Strand, are popular destinations for young people visiting London.

Southwark, which encompasses areas including Borough Market and the South Bank entertainment complex, is also being searched by officers working with the Metropolitan Police to locate the missing teenager.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police emphasised the urgency of the search, stating that Alexis’s disappearance is concerning given her young age and the length of time she has been missing.

Cross-Force Cooperation

The case highlights the cooperation between regional police forces when missing persons are believed to have crossed county boundaries. Northamptonshire Police are working closely with the Metropolitan Police to coordinate search efforts across the identified London boroughs.

Missing person cases involving teenagers who may have travelled to London are not uncommon, with the capital’s transport links and anonymity often attracting young people. The Metropolitan Police regularly assist other forces in locating missing teenagers who are believed to have travelled to the city.

Public Urged to Help

Officers are particularly asking members of the public in the Camden, Southwark, Strand and Leicester Square areas to be alert for any sightings of Alexis. These areas, popular with tourists and young people, see thousands of visitors daily, making public assistance crucial in the search.

Transport police are also likely to be monitoring major transport hubs including King’s Cross, Euston and Waterloo stations, which serve as key arrival points for those travelling to London from Northamptonshire.

The timing of the appeal during the summer holidays, when these areas are particularly busy with tourists and families, means there may be more potential witnesses who could have spotted the missing teenager.

Direct Appeal to Alexis

Police have also issued a direct message to Alexis herself: “Alexis, if you see this appeal, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. You’re not in trouble, we just need to make sure you are OK.”

This approach is standard in missing person cases involving teenagers, as officers recognise that young people may be reluctant to contact police if they believe they will face consequences for running away.

How to Help

Members of the public who believe they have seen Alexis or have any information about her whereabouts should:

  • Call 101 immediately, quoting reference CAD 1213/20AUG
  • If you see Alexis right now, call 999
  • Contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
  • Contact the Missing People charity on 116 000

Police stress that any information, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, could be crucial in locating Alexis safely. Previous missing person cases have often been resolved through members of the public reporting sightings in busy areas.

Support for Families

The Missing People charity provides support to families of missing persons and operates a 24-hour helpline. They work alongside police forces across the UK to publicise appeals and provide emotional support during what is an extremely distressing time for families.

Northamptonshire Police have not released further details about the circumstances of Alexis’s disappearance, which is standard practice to protect the privacy of minors and their families whilst maximising the chances of a safe return.

As the search continues, police are urging anyone in the identified London areas to remain vigilant and report any potential sightings immediately. Time is often critical in missing person cases, particularly those involving teenagers who may be vulnerable.
