President vows ‘full strength and might’ of US military will crush Tehran if Iran attacks America – despite vetoing Israel’s plan to assassinate Supreme Leader
THE USS Nimitz aircraft carrier is steaming towards the Middle East as the conflict between Israel and Iran spirals out of control, with President Donald Trump issuing an explosive warning that Iran will face military destruction “at levels never seen before” if it attacks America.
The 48-year-old nuclear-powered supercarrier is currently transiting through the Strait of Malacca from the South China Sea, ready to join the USS Carl Vinson already operating in the region as tensions reach boiling point.
In a dramatic early morning post on Truth Social, Trump warned Tehran: “If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before.”
‘Nothing to do with attack’
The President’s stark warning came hours after Israel and Iran traded deadly missile barrages for the third consecutive day, with casualties mounting on both sides.
Trump was adamant that America played no role in Israel’s devastating strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and military targets, declaring: “The U.S. had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight.
However, the President admitted on Friday that the US “knew everything” about Israel‘s planned offensive, and American air defense systems have been actively helping Israel shoot down incoming Iranian ballistic missiles.
Massive naval buildup
The Pentagon is dramatically shifting military resources to the volatile region, with the Nimitz carrier strike group now heading west to potentially join the fight.
According to military officials, the Navy’s oldest active carrier left the western Pacific and was last tracked in the Strait of Malacca on Sunday, moving from the South China Sea toward the Andaman Sea.
The carrier group includes destroyer squadron USS Curtis Wilbur, USS Gridley, USS Wayne E. Meyer and USS Lenah Sutcliffe Higbee.
A third carrier, the USS George Washington, has also left its port in Japan and “could be directed to the region if so ordered,” according to US officials.
Trump vetoes assassination plot
In a stunning revelation, US officials confirmed that Trump personally vetoed an Israeli plan to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in recent days.
“Have the Iranians killed an American yet? No. Until they do we’re not even talking about going after the political leadership,” a senior U.S. administration official told Reuters.
The Israelis had developed what they called a “credible plan” to kill Khamenei, but Trump made clear to Israeli officials that he opposed the move.
An Israeli official ominously warned: “The Supreme Leader should be changing bedrooms at night.
40,000 troops ready
The US currently has approximately 40,000 troops stationed across the Middle East, up from the typical 30,000, as the crisis deepens.
American forces include:
- Ground-based Patriot missile defense systems
- Terminal High Altitude Air Defense systems
- The destroyer USS Thomas Hudner moving to the Eastern Mediterranean
- Fighter jets patrolling Middle Eastern skies
- The USS Carl Vinson carrier strike group in the Arabian Sea
Rising death toll
The human cost of the escalating conflict continues to mount, with Israeli authorities reporting at least 13 deaths from Iranian missile strikes, including three minors.
Iranian authorities claim at least 75 people have been killed in Israeli strikes, with dozens more injured on both sides.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned Tehran residents to evacuate areas near weapons facilities, declaring: “The Iranian dictator is turning Tehran into Beirut.
‘Deal can be done’
Despite the apocalyptic threats, Trump insisted that peace remains possible, claiming: “We can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!!!
The President revealed he had spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin for an hour on Saturday, with both leaders agreeing the war “should end.
However, planned nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US scheduled for Sunday were abruptly cancelled, with Tehran refusing to negotiate while under Israeli attack.
Iran threatens US bases
Iran’s defense minister Aziz Nasirzadeh issued his own chilling warning on Wednesday, threatening to strike American military facilities across the Middle East.
All U.S. bases are within our reach and we will boldly target them in host countries,” he declared during a press briefing.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claimed Tehran has “solid proof” of American support for Israeli attacks, though Washington continues to deny direct involvement in the strikes.
Netanyahu vows no mercy
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised the assault will continue “for as many days as it takes to remove this threat,” vowing to strike “every site of the Ayatollah’s regime.
The Israeli operation, codenamed Rising Lion, is expected to last “weeks, not days” according to White House and Israeli officials.
As millions of Israelis ran for bomb shelters amid air raid sirens, the IDF claimed it had struck Iranian missile launchers, defense ministry headquarters, and sites allegedly linked to Tehran’s nuclear weapons program.
Trump’s peace promise tested
The escalating crisis represents the first major test of Trump’s promise to act as a global peacemaker, after telling his inaugural crowd he would “bring a new spirit of unity to a world that has been angry, violent and totally unpredictable.
With American warships converging on the region and rhetoric reaching fever pitch, the world watches anxiously to see if the President can deliver on his pledge to broker peace – or if the Middle East is about to erupt into its bloodiest conflict yet.
