A physics teacher who boasted of being a “good teacher gone bad… really bad” has been struck off after “very excited” schoolboys discovered her secret OnlyFans account and gleefully shared X-rated lingerie photos around their Glasgow school.
Kirsty Buchan, 34, was hauled before a disciplinary panel yesterday after pupils at Bannerman High School uncovered her raunchy alter ego “Jessica Jackrabbit x” in 2022, sparking a scandal that left the school “synonymous with having an OnlyFans teacher.
The mum-of-one’s profile – which was shockingly accessible without payment or sign-up – featured her posing in lingerie and topless photos that quickly went viral among students, with shocked parents bombarding the school with complaints.
‘Have You Heard The News? You’re Going to Go Ballistic!’
In extraordinary evidence to the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), headteacher Seonaidh Black revealed how she first learned of the scandal from a group of S5 and S6 boys who could barely contain their excitement.
“I was approached by some S5 and S6 boys, who were very excited,” Ms Black told the hearing. They were saying things like, ‘Have you heard the news. I said something like ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about’ as I did not want to engage them in this kind of conversation.
“I was then told something like, ‘If you haven’t heard, when you do, you’re going to go ballistic. Look out for Jessica Jackrabbit’.
As I came back into the building, at least two staff stopped to ask me if I knew about Kirsty. It was obvious at this point that everyone knew what was going on.”
‘Sexy Tight Body’ Teacher Used Profession as ‘Selling Tool’
The hearing was told that Buchan had brazenly used her teaching career to market her adult content, with her OnlyFans bio featuring the provocative tagline: “Good teacher gone bad… really bad.”
She also boasted of having a “sexy tight body” on the platform where she sold explicit photos and videos.
Solicitor Gary Burton, presenting for the GTCS, said Ms Buchan had “used her profession as a selling tool” and that her actions had left Bannerman High School’s reputation in tatters.
“Bannerman High School is now synonymous with having an OnlyFans teacher,” he told the panel.
Teacher Refuses to Show Face at Hearing
In a final act of defiance, Buchan – who resigned from her £40,000-a-year post in December 2022 – refused to appear at or give evidence to the disciplinary hearing.
She had previously told the Daily Record she wouldn’t attend, declaring: “They can do what they like at the GTCS but I won’t be there.
The unrepentant teacher had also claimed selling X-rated photos online was “socially acceptable in 2025” and that critics were displaying a “Victorian attitude.
Headteacher’s Bombshell Evidence
Ms Black painted a picture of a teacher who had repeatedly blurred professional boundaries, revealing that Buchan – herself a former pupil at the school – had previously been warned about her social media conduct.
On a couple of occasions Ms Buchan was not clear on boundaries with pupils,” the headteacher testified, clarifying she wasn’t referring to inappropriate relationships but that “Ms Buchan’s social media accounts were open where pupils could access them.
The situation exploded when a deputy headteacher showed Ms Black screenshots from Buchan’s OnlyFans page, which had been circulating among senior pupils.
The following day, the school received an email that appeared to be from a concerned parent – sent from a pupil’s email account – containing topless photos and lingerie shots from Buchan’s profile.
‘Countering Everything We Try to Teach’
In damning testimony, Ms Black explained how Buchan’s actions had undermined the school’s efforts to teach pupils about appropriate online behavior.
We’re trying to say ‘this is what life is all about’ and the role model – the teacher – is countering what we’re trying to teach,” she said.
“What doesn’t help is when your teacher is on a website where the content they are presenting has a pornographic element to it.”
The headteacher warned it would be “a long time before the situation involving Kirsty is no longer talked about” at the school.
£60,000 in One Month Boast
The hearing was told that Buchan had given multiple newspaper interviews boasting about her lucrative side-hustle, claiming she made £60,000 in just one month and could earn £50,000 per year through the platform.
She had originally claimed she turned to OnlyFans after the school allegedly threatened to dock her wages if she took more than three days off to care for her sick son – claims the council strongly disputed.
School Already in Crisis
The scandal hit at the worst possible time for Bannerman High, which was already dealing with teacher strikes over violent pupil behavior.
Members of the NASUWT union were taking industrial action over what they called a “war zone” environment, with claims of staff being threatened, having plastic bags put over their heads, and pupils brandishing screwdrivers.
This along with the industrial action happening at the same time has had a huge impact on our school,” Ms Black told the hearing.
‘Zero Insight’ Into Her Conduct
After deliberating, the GTCS panel found all allegations against Buchan proven and ordered her to be struck off the teaching register.
Mr Burton said there had been “significant blurring between her private and her professional life” and that she had shown “zero insight into her conduct” and failed to act as a role model.
The panel recommended she be banned from reapplying for teacher registration for at least two years.
Council’s Damning Verdict
Glasgow City Council, which had launched an investigation before Buchan resigned, delivered a scathing assessment of her behavior.
A spokesperson said: “This teacher was under investigation prior to resigning following the widespread distribution of wholly inappropriate and pornographic images.
The council has a code of conduct that all employees should adhere to and a teacher who has actively pursued a second income on this type of website brings their school, the council and their profession into disrepute.
From ‘Bubbly Teacher’ to OnlyFans Model
The fall from grace is particularly stark for Buchan, who was described by her headteacher as a “bubbly and enthusiastic” person who “wanted to do a good job.”
She had taught physics at the school for six years and claimed pupils “loved” her, even describing herself as a “great teacher” who put her “heart and soul” into the job.
But her decision to launch an OnlyFans account in late 2022 – using old photos initially posted by a friend – saw her teaching career implode within days as word spread like wildfire through the school.
